Can a minor marry adult year in Pennsylvania?

I’m 16 and he’s 21. We are 5 year 2 months 6 days apart and we’ve been dating for goal over two years. Both of my parents approve of our relationship, so Could we get married? P. S. I do not want to hear that I’m stupid or Any of that. I’m just wondering if we could. Because I do not understand why there is this Thing Called statutory rape now aim There was not thirty years ago.

  1. Well the legal age to get married is 18, but if you have your parents approval, then you can get married. I’m pretty sure that if your parents say you can marry this guy, then the whole statutory rape thing isn’t an issue. I’m not 100% sure about that, but I’m pretty sure.

  2. you can, you just need you’re parents consent, meaning that they have to be there when you get your marriage liscense. not meddling, but just sort of wondering why you cant wait until you’re 18 so that you dont need anyone’s consent, and since you’re feelings wont change, it just seems like the adult thing to do. two adults (at 18 and 23) dont need an adult’s permission, but thats just my take. you just need your parents there to sign the liscense.
