Swing the Golf Club and Stop the Fat Shot

When you swing the golf club did you know that the downswing path of the clubhead is narrower than the clubhead path of the backswing. In this video golf ins…

Guys, improve your golf skills does not have to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a training program called Golfonax Training Program (google it). Seriously, thanks to Golfonax Training Program I’ve improve my game. I probably shouldn’t even be mentioning it because I don’t want a bunch of other guys out there running the same “game” but whatever, I am just in a great mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.

Thanks for your question Chip. The L position is different with every golfer and some have more than other but the key is to keep the acceleration constant with the left hand and complete your hip rotation to release the shaft outwards.
Let the force ‘throw’ the clubhead out towards the ball and just complete your body pivot.
Keep practicing moving your hands past the impact line and find your ideal release point Chip.
Best of luck with it and thanks for your question.

  3. Hi Lawrie, I tried this at home and while pulling the handle down with the left hand only past the impact position (in the tight circle), the entire club naturally still wants to cast out. I find the weight of the club with the cenrifical force naturally wants to cast the club no matter what I try to do to hold the lag. What other step is missing here? What holds the club in the L position past impact because there is definitely a force there that naturally wants the weight of the club to cast.

I wish you the best of luck with the healing of your elbow so you can get back to playing this great game. Thanks for sharing your comments.

  5. Now I know why I have golfer’s elbow. I’ve been pushing with the left hand(left-handed golfer) instead of pulling with my right. I wish I had seen this video before I damaged my left elbow by hitting the ground before the ball. Can’t wait to heal and start doing it right. Thanks

Thank you. Yes the principle is the same for woods and irons only the ball position changes.
On weight shift and rotation. The lower bodies mass is displaced (from one position to another) during the golf swing motion not so much by a hip slide or lateral motion but by momentum generated from the unwinding of the upper and lower torso which influences your arms to accelerate into the downswing. The momentum will take you into your front leg and through to the finish. Good luck with it.

Thank you so much I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and have gained value from viewing it. I have a driver analysis “Swing the Golf Club to Drive it Longer” which covers an analysis of a fine Aussie professional golfer Steve Allen. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and thanks again for sharing your positive comments.

  8. Excellent instructional video. I wish I had seen this 30 years ago. Does the concept differ for shots using a wood, since there is no divot? How about the shoulder/hip rotation and weight shift aspects of the downswing?

  9. This video is a tremendous teacher. I have watched it several times and have put in a lot of work implementing this in my practice sessions. It is working extremely well for me. My iron game has vastly improved, accuracy and distance control. With this swing knowledge and on course success, my confidence has risen, my frustration level has declined, which makes my golfing so much more enjoyable and fun. I can’t thank you enough for doing this video. I would love to see a driver analysis.

  11. great video mate. Your video has been set out in a way that any lay person can understand. This beats any golf lesson and can save people a sh#t load of money.

I’m glad that you enjoyed the video and gained value from it on the practice range. Thank you for sharing your comments and keep up the great work.

  14. I was also having back and wrist pain after playing and I’m confident this will relieve the problem as well as making the golf swing easier to perform.

  15. Great video! The image and feel this provided me getting from the top to impact is night and day! I knew what impact was supposed to look like and used a drill from The Golf Fix, but this image and realization helped me have the best range session in my 10 years of golf. The yellow arrow showing the direction of the pull is eye opening. Thank you!

  16. Do I know you? I watched this video as well and can feel the pull to impact is going to help me tremendously! Good luck!

  18. Being seriously right hand dominant caused me to push the club instead of pull it. After seeing this, I can feel a difference in my swing and I can already tell Im gonna have great results!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!1

So glad to read that my videos are helping you. It makes it all worthwhile and I wish you continued success with your golf and appreciate you sharing your comments with me.

  20. I have had issues with hitting fat, and my downswing would be so wide and drop so early i would even top the ball on my follow through. This, and your other hitting fat analysis (learned a lot about ball placement), has helped me understand so much about proper swing. Thank you

Thank you, I appreciate you sharing your comments with me. You should learn to play golf, it’s a great game and when you do make sure you take lessons from an experienced teaching professional who is a member of the PGA or LPGA because it will make a difference.

  22. Hey I don’t even play golf and love this video, its a great teaching. My dad and brother play all the time and I have sent it to them.. Good stuff thanks..

The best of luck with your golf practice and play Rudy and thanks for taking the time to share your comments.

  24. Great video, now I start to understand how pros can hit faster. And for me, the most important lesson was the acceleration of the left hand (for a right-handed golder), and not the right-hand. Let’s go and practice. Thank you.
